We are seeking a highly motivated Head of Safety Operations (m/f/d) to join our team. This position will play a pivotal role in driving various safety programs across our global operations. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of hazards in production sites, a strong interest for communication and collaboration with different departments - but most importantly a passion for all aspects of safety.

The person runs disciplinary leadership of the safety teams in the German manufacturing facilities and functional leadership of safety teams in the international manufacturing facilities.
 

Your tasks:

  • Shape the safety environment of the operation sites and actively sharpen the safety mind-set of the respective team
  • Manage the development and implementation of the safety goals, policies and priorities for each assigned area
  • Anchoring of a holistic, company-wide safety strategy and an implementation roadmap for global operation sites
  • Promote the standardization of processes, performance standards and a preventive culture
  • Support or take the lead on creating or reviewing global standards in the company as well as in cross-functional, international teams and working groups to ensure successful implementation and integration of safety improvement initiatives
  • Promote a zero-accident culture within the Operations and collaborate in the implementation of processes and structures to ensure zero accidents, including the elaboration of annual development plans for production sites
  • Lead change management projects in regards of safety

Your qualifications:

  • University degree in engineering, occupational health and safety or a related field
  • 7+ years of experience in managing safety in multiple manufacturing sites, preferrably in an international environment
  • Proven experience in a leadership role overseeing safety programs
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and lead cross-functional initiatives, in a collaborative environment with an emphasis both on teamwork and individual accountability
  • Highly articulate with excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and German
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Self-initiative and independent working style with ownership and accountability
  • Strong hands-on mentality and willingness to travel to various sites as well as intercultural awareness
