Junior Sustainability & Compliance Specialist Operations (m/f/d)

This position can be filled in Germany and Portugal.
Your Tasks
- Support the analysis, interpretation, and implementation of sustainability regulations and requirements
- Assist in engaging suppliers and subcontractors, including preparing materials and helping with trainings on sustainability processes
- Contribute to projects that implement the sustainability strategy and reporting requirements within Operations
- Provide basic internal support on sustainability topics and collaborate with operational and cross‑functional teams
- Help integrate external sustainability demands into internal processes, tools, and systems
- Support the calculation and preparation of CO₂ pricing and emissions data in line with EU mechanisms
- Assist in identifying and preparing emission‑reduction measures within the supplier network
- Collaborate with colleagues across functions to drive future‑oriented, compliant implementation of sustainability targets
- Support the delivery of internal trainings and workshops on sustainability topics
Your Qualifications
- Graduate degree in sustainability, business administration, engineering, or a related field
- Initial experience in sustainability, carbon accounting, data analytics, energy, auditing, or consulting
- An interest in, or initial practical experience with, AI-powered tools and methods, for example in data processing, analytics, document analysis or the automation of sustainability processes
- Strong analytical skills and a basic understanding of data modelling; a willingness to develop project management skills
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel; knowledge of data visualisation or business intelligence tools is an advantage
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, as well as the ability to interact confidently with various internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent English (spoken and written); knowledge of German is an advantage
- An independent, structured and detail-oriented approach to work, as well as a strong willingness to learn and motivation for continuous professional development
