ENERCON Canada is seeking an experienced and bilingual Buyer to join our Purchasing team in Boucherville. If you're known for your attention to detail, strong negotiation skills, and ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, this opportunity is for you!
Reporting to the Purchasing and Planning Manager, you will be responsible for managing procurement activities across the organization, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. You will work closely with internal teams and suppliers to support North American operations and contribute to the overall performance of our supply chain.
Main Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and prioritize purchasing activities to support daily operations and maintain optimal stock levels.
- Develop and maintain a reliable supplier network for materials and services while identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Analyze purchase requests and prepare RFQs for non-standard goods and services, ensuring compliance with procurement policies and strategies.
- Conduct supplier meetings, negotiate pricing and terms, and finalize competitive agreements.
- Manage contracts including drafting, renewals, and improvements to ensure long-term value and solid supplier relationships.
- Proactively manage stock availability, anticipate shortages, and monitor MRP settings to maintain appropriate inventory levels.
- Create and manage purchase orders (POs), follow up with suppliers, and communicate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely deliveries.
- Keep procurement data up to date in SAP and ensure accurate documentation and file management.
- Actively participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance procurement processes and support supply chain efficiency.
- Monitor and report KPIs (cost savings, supplier performance, lead times, etc.).
- Support general administrative tasks as needed to contribute to team flexibility.
Your Profile:
- University degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role with a strong understanding of procurement and supply chain processes.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and SAP (MM, P2P modules).
- Familiarity with Power BI or Power Pivot is an asset.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Strong organizational abilities and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluent in French and English, both written and spoken; German is a plus.
- Proactive, reliable, client-focused, and a strong team player with a professional and analytical mindset.
