ENERCON is looking for a motivated Buyer to join our Procurement Team in Boucherville. Reporting to the Procurement and Planning Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing procurement activities across the organization, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. You will work closely with your team and suppliers to support operations across North America and contribute to the efficiency and performance of our supply chain.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, and prioritize purchasing activities to support daily operations and ensure optimal stock levels.
  • Develop and maintain a reliable network of suppliers for materials and services, continuously exploring market opportunities to optimize costs.
  • Analyze purchase requests and prepare requests for proposals (RFPs) for non-standard goods and services, ensuring compliance with company policies and procurement strategies.
  • Organize supplier meetings, negotiate prices, and finalize terms to secure competitive agreements.
  • Manage contracts, including preparation, renewals, and enhancements, to ensure long-term value and strong supplier relationships.
  • Ensure timely availability of items, proactively avoiding stock shortages, and managing MRP to maintain optimal inventory levels.
  • Create and manage purchase orders (PO), follow up with suppliers, and communicate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery.
  • Regularly update procurement data in SAP and ensure meticulous administrative management of purchase records.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects aimed at optimizing procurement processes and supporting overall supply chain performance.
  • Support related administrative tasks as needed, contributing to the versatility and adaptability of the procurement team.

 

Desired Profile:

  • University degree in Business Administration, Procurement Management, or a DEC in Administration, or equivalent experience in procurement or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role with a strong understanding of procurement and supply chain management processes.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with SAP (MM, P2P modules).
  • Excellent negotiation skills with a proven ability to build and maintain successful supplier relationships.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluency in French and English, both spoken and written; knowledge of German is an asset.
  • Customer-oriented, proactive, analytical, reliable, with a strong team spirit and good communication skills.
