ENERCON is actively seeking a Health and Safety Instructor/Trainer to strengthen its Training and Expertise department, based in Boucherville. Our Training and Expertise department provides technical training and expertise in health and safety, mechanical, electrical, and our tools and equipment, targeting our employees, suppliers, and external clients. Under the supervision of the Training and Expertise department manager, the incumbent will have the opportunity to contribute significantly to our mission of excellence in occupational health and safety.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct theoretical classroom training and supervise practical training on available simulators at the training center.
  • Collaborate closely with trainers specializing in electricity and mechanics to address health and safety issues.
  • Act as a prevention advisor, visiting facilities and meeting with staff to support prevention initiatives.
  • Intervene in observations of at-risk behaviors and contribute to influencing a positive culture change.
  • Identify and analyze work-related risks, and participate in the implementation of action plans and corrective measures.
  • Support, advise, and counsel managers and employees on prevention matters.
  • Follow up on various health and safety committees at our clients' sites.
  • Interpret, apply, and disseminate laws, standards, and regulations in occupational health and safety.
  • Adapt training from the German headquarters to Canadian federal and provincial standards.
  • Collaborate with the health, safety, and environment team to develop training content and materials.
  • Assess the knowledge and skills acquired by participants.
  • Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment.
  • Perform interventions at wind sites across Canada during the summer period.
  • Design and update training programs, manage the schedule, and develop presentations and work instructions.
  • Create, manage, and maintain training records.
  • Participate in special projects and assume any other related tasks.

Required Qualifications:

  • University degree in occupational health and safety, or college/professional diploma in fire safety, or equivalent training in a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Experience in technical rescue, confined space entry and rescue, and work-at-height rescue.
  • Knowledge of provincial and federal legislation in occupational health, safety, and environment, WHMIS, and TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods).
  • Experience in the wind industry would be an asset.
  • Bilingualism in oral and written communication (French and English).
  • Pedagogical skills and listening ability.
  • Excellent communication skills, dynamism, and benevolence.
  • Ability to work at heights.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite, especially PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Valid driver's license and passport.
  • Availability to travel within Canada and Europe (estimated between 5 and 10%).
