We have an excellent permanent opportunity for a Team Lead – Safety Standards to join our International HSE Team in Edinburgh. The role offers an opportunity to make the role your own, and make a direct impact towards ENERCON’s success.
You will be responsible for leading a team, as well as defining, implementing and maintaining ENERCON’s Global Health, Safety and Environmental standards. This role requires occassional travel across the region and our Headquarters in Germany as required.
You will align our Global HSE Strategy with our corporate objectives, regulatory requirements and Integrated Management System (IMS), translating these into high standards that improve our overall safety performance. This role is suited for someone who wants to make a strong impact, with the scope to influence and strengthen safety standards across the business. The position requires strong leadership, strategic thinking and the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple regions and business functions.
Main Roles and Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a team of five HSE professionals, setting clear objectives, monitoring performance and building a high performing, collaborative culture
- Oversee the development and review of global OHS standards to meet policy goals, strategic objectives and management system requirements
- Ensure effective implementation of standards across regions, incorporating feedback for continuous improvement
- Collaborate with corporate safety, regional HSE teams and incident management teams to identify emerging risks and update standards accordingly
- Develop, review and track leading and lagging Key Performance Indicators
- Develop, maintain and enhance digital HSE platforms that support strategic goals and objectives
- Lead global compliance audits and inspections to verify adherence to ENERCON standards
- Monitor audit findings and closure of actions, and identify trends for proactive risk management
- Maintain and enhance audit and inspection documentation globally
- Support and drive delivery of the global HSES strategy, including reporting to senior leadership and identifying opportunities to strengthen safety performance and programs
Other Duties
- Ensure all team members maintain required training and certifications
- Travel across regions and headquarters as required
- Develop, maintain and ensure budgets are developed and maintained for the direct report employees in consultation with Cost Centre Owners
Personal Qualifications
- Recognised safety qualification (e.g., NEBOSH Diploma)
- ISO 45001 Internal Auditor qualification highly desirable
- Proven experience in occupational safety, auditing, and compliance
- Previous leadership experience in HSE or related field preferred
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
- High attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a dynamic environment
- Proficiency in MS Office (advanced Excel essential)
- Commitment to ethical practices and integrity
- Full valid UK driving license
- Right to work in the UK
