Department: Service & Maintenance
Location: Anywhere in Canada, with regular travel to wind farms across the country
Reporting to: Manager, Technical Support Operations

 

ENERCON is seeking a Supervisor, Electrical Technical Services to coordinate all electrical‑support activities for its Canadian wind‑farm fleet, working closely with the Lead, Mechanical Technical Services. The role manages four key areas: the mobile‑technician team (18 people), major component exchanges, 2nd‑level electrical technical support, and Grid Operation.

 

Responsibilities

Team Management & Planning

  • Define, prioritise, and execute annual objectives and workloads for each sub‑team.
  • Contribute to the annual budget and monitor cost centres.
  • Allocate tasks equitably according to priorities and deadlines.
  • Serve as the escalation point for team members and stakeholders.

Major Component Exchanges

  • Coordinate the replacement of critical major components with all stakeholders.

Mobile Technicians

  • Lead a team of 18 travelling technicians and optimise their deployment across Canada.
  • Develop new specialised tool kits, set goals, and track performance.

Grid Operation

  • Provide 1st‑ and 2nd‑level technical support on grid‑connection, production, and grid‑code‑compliance issues.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical faults related to transformers and switchgear, documenting solutions.

2nd‑Level Electrical Technical Support

  • Perform root‑cause analyses on turbine electrical systems and issue technical bulletins.
  • Deliver targeted training to field teams and participate in continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Cross‑Team Collaboration

  • Align priorities with the Mechanical Lead (component exchanges, inspections, planned outages) and ensure HSE compliance.

 

Requirements

  • Post‑secondary education in electrical engineering or a related field (membership in the Order of Engineers is an asset).
  • In‑depth knowledge of wind‑turbine technologies and maintenance best practices.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience managing technical projects or supervising maintenance teams.
  • Proven skills in interpersonal communication, problem‑solving, and networking.
  • Essential bilingual proficiency in French and English, spoken and written.
  • Entrepreneurial, analytical, and collaborative mindset with diplomacy and a strong work ethic.
  • Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel frequently (≈ 30–40 %).
