ENERCON is currently seeking Wind Turbine Technicians to join our local maintenance service teams on site. As a vital part of our team, you'll play a key role in maintaining and optimizing wind turbine systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Executing routine maintenance tasks on wind turbine systems.
  • Conducting inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs to ensure optimal performance.
  • Diagnose electrical and mechanical system issues, proposing and implementing necessary repairs or modifications.
  • Collaborating with the maintenance team to implement preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Utilizing diagnostic tools and techniques for efficient issue resolution.
  • Document work performed and equipment/materials used digitally via tablets and smartphones.
  • Adhering to safety protocols and procedures at all times.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of health and safety programs.
  • Attending ongoing ENERCON training sessions covering health and safety, maintenance techniques, and updated work methods.
  • Inspecting and maintain ENERCON vehicles before use.
  • Traveling to assist wind parks in the region or across Canada.
  • Perform all daily tasks in strict compliance with ENERCON's quality and safety standards.

 

Requirements:

  • Technical degree or certification in electromechanics, electricity, or wind turbine maintenance.
  • Demonstrated experience in electrical or mechanical maintenance.
  • Certification as a journeyman electrician with a Red Seal is considered a valuable asset.
  • Basic proficiency in computer skills, including MS Office applications.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Availability for overtime, weekend on-call duty, and occasional travel.
  • Ability to travel for planned periods of a few days to perform annual maintenance at other sites in Nova Scotia.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities to address complex issues efficiently.
  • Proficiency in working at heights and in confined spaces safely.
  • Knowledge of basic first aid and practical height rescue procedures.
  • Awareness of electrical and mechanical safety standards, ensuring compliance.
  • Capability to read and apply work instruction manuals accurately.
  • Ability to interpret diagrams and drawings, including electrical, hydraulic, and technical schematics.
  • Competence in using medium voltage switching devices and working on transformers.
  • In-depth understanding of personal protective equipment (PPE) with strict adherence to industry standards.
